How to Plan Destination Wedding

We always get asked for a how to plan destination wedding checklist. The planning process is quite simple for the most part. Here are the major steps – we can worry about the details of each of the steps later on.

Destination Wedding Checklist

1. Figure out where you’d like to go. Look at our suggestions and decide on a destination and a couple of resorts that meet your needs.

2. Fill out our Wedding Info form to let us know a little bit about your wedding plans.

3. We’ll send you pricing information, a group rate for your rooms, details about the wedding package and services at that resort, offer some suggestions and tell you about what upgrades we can negotiate.

4. We will always get back to you within a few hours to answer your questions and talk to you about your plans. Keep in mind that we negotiate your group rates directly with the hotel which can take a day or so. The upside is that we’ll deliver the lowest price anywhere on your rooms.

5. Reserve your wedding date with the hotel. This is the most important step! Destination Caribbean Weddings are getting more and more popular, wedding dates can start to disappear a year in advance. Securing your date with the hotel as early as possible is a must.

6. Decide on your package and have the bride and groom book their room.

7. Make save the date cards and invitations for your dream Caribbean beach wedding informing your family and friends of the cost and how to book.

8. Start getting the required legal documents together for the hotel.

9. We start planning together for your rehearsal, ceremony and reception.

10. Not everyone will be able to make it to a destination wedding. Most couples plan a reception BBQ when they get home. Invite everyone over and put on a slideshow of your destination Caribbean wedding. This also prevents you from missing out on one of the best parts – wedding presents.

Once we get the process underway, we’ll go over a timeline with you of when things should be done and come up with a more detailed list. We’ll get to know each other very well over the course of your engagement.
